Two-handed support for DJI Ronin gimbals

Tilta Basic Ring Grip Plus is a lightweight support frame designed to improve handling and stability when operating compatible DJI Ronin gimbals. Instead of holding the gimbal only by its original battery grip, the operator can work with two mechanical side handles positioned on opposite sides of the ring. This creates two points of contact, making it easier to guide the rig during walking shots, longer takes and dynamic camera moves while reducing strain on the wrists and forearms.

The frame is compatible with DJI RS 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, RS 4, RS 4 Pro and RS 5. Tilta uses a magnesium-aluminum alloy construction to keep the ring relatively light while maintaining the durability required for regular production use. The gimbal’s original battery handle mounts at the top of the frame and can also function as a top handle, which makes it easier to transition quickly into low-angle operating positions.

Mechanical handles without gimbal control

Our rental version includes two simple mechanical side handles. They provide a comfortable two-handed grip but do not offer electronic control of the gimbal, camera or focus system. Pan, tilt, operating modes and other settings therefore remain controlled directly from the DJI Ronin or from separately rented compatible control accessories. This makes the Basic Ring Grip Plus a straightforward choice when improved ergonomics and physical stability are more important than remote controls built into the handles.

The ring remains expandable if a more advanced setup is required. Its mounting points can accommodate accessories such as an on-board monitor or wireless video transmitter, and it is compatible with optional Tilta power and control accessories. This gives productions the option to start with a simple mechanical operating frame and add further components only when the shooting configuration requires them.

Integrated kickstand and complete rental package

The lower section features an integrated kickstand, allowing the complete gimbal rig to be placed safely on the ground between takes without removing the camera from the frame. This is particularly useful during repeated setups, lens changes or short breaks when the rig needs to remain assembled and ready to use.

Our rental set includes Basic Ring Grip Plus Part I with the battery-handle mount, Part II with the integrated kickstand and gimbal mount, two mechanical side handles and a carrying bag. The modular two-part construction also makes the system practical to transport and assemble on location.
