Insta360 X6

The Insta360 X6 is a flagship 360° camera that went on sale on 12 August 2026. It captures everything around it at once, in native 8K at 50 fps, so you choose your framing later in the edit. That makes it a huge time-saver for FPV-style shots, travel vlogs, winter sports, and motorcycle, bike or car footage. The telescopic selfie stick is automatically removed from the image, so your footage looks as if it was shot by a drone flying right behind you.

Larger sensors and better images in difficult light

The X6 uses two Sony 1/1.1-inch type sensors, with around 33% more surface area than its predecessor. Each sensor has a dedicated image processor, and the whole system delivers five times the processing power with lower power draw. In practice that means cleaner footage after dark, indoors and against the light. A new low-light mode with two ambient light sensors and AdaptiveTone 2.0, which captures two exposures per frame, help too. For grading there is a 10-bit I-Log profile, and for quick publishing native in-camera Dolby Vision.

Shooting modes: 360°, single-lens and Bullet Time

Beyond 360° capture, the camera also works like a classic single-lens action cam, in 5K at 60 fps or in 4K at 120 fps for slow motion. You can shoot striking Bullet Time clips at up to 8K 100 fps, and 360° photos come out at 120MP. Bitrate goes up to 240Mbps. Stabilisation comes from a six-axis gyro with 360° Horizon Lock, so the horizon stays level even when the camera rotates. Without a housing, the camera is waterproof to 20 m and works from -20°C to 40°C.
