DJI Osmo Action 6

Released in November 2025, the DJI Osmo Action 6 is a compact flagship action camera built for sports, travel, POV footage, car rigs and productions where a conventional cinema camera would be too large or vulnerable. Compared with the Action 5 Pro, it introduces a larger 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensor, DJI’s first variable-aperture system in an action camera and a new 4K Custom mode that gives editors more freedom to crop for horizontal, vertical or square delivery.

8K30, 4K Custom and variable aperture

The camera records up to 8K 30p in 16:9, while 4K reaches 120p and Full HD reaches 240p for slow motion. The square-sensor 4K Custom mode records 3840 × 3840 at up to 60p, allowing one take to be reframed later for different social and broadcast formats. DJI specifies up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range, while 10-bit D-Log M and HLG support more flexible grading workflows.

A major upgrade over the Action 5 Pro is the variable f/2.0–f/4.0 aperture. The wider setting helps in lower light, while stopping down can increase depth of field for close action or accessory-based shooting. RockSteady 3.0, RockSteady 3.0+, HorizonBalancing and HorizonSteady provide electronic stabilization, with 4K HorizonSteady available in compatible modes up to 60p.

Waterproof body and extended rental setup

The body is waterproof to 20 metres without an additional housing and includes 50GB of usable built-in storage alongside a microSD slot supporting cards up to 1TB. Our rental package adds a 128GB microSD card, Utility Frame, Dual-Direction Quick-Release Adapter Mount and locking screw, making it easier to move between handheld, mounted and extended configurations.

Three 1950mAh Extreme Battery Plus batteries and the Multifunctional Battery Case 3 support longer shooting days and charging between takes. DJI rates maximum operating time at up to approximately 240 minutes at 1080p24 under controlled laboratory conditions. The included 1.5m Extension Rod expands selfie, follow and high-angle options, while the USB-C PD cable and carrying case complete the mobile kit.
