Blackmagic Pocket 6K

Introduced in August 2019, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K is a compact Super 35 digital film camera built for commercials, music videos, documentaries and independent narrative work. Its 6144 × 3456 sensor, active Canon EF mount and Blackmagic RAW workflow make it a practical choice for crews that want a cinematic image and flexible post-production without moving to a larger cinema body. The EF mount also provides access to a broad range of Canon, Sigma, Zeiss and cinema lenses.

6K Blackmagic RAW and dual native ISO

The camera records 12-bit Blackmagic RAW at up to 6K 50p, or 6K 2.4:1 at up to 60p. For high-speed work, 2.8K 17:9 and Full HD can reach 120 fps. Blackmagic specifies 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO values of 400 and 3200, giving operators useful flexibility between controlled lighting and lower-light locations. Recording options include CFast 2.0, SD UHS-II and direct USB-C recording to compatible external drives.

Unlike the later 6K Pro, the original 6K does not include built-in ND filters or an adjustable HDR screen. Its large 5-inch touchscreen is fixed, so daylight exposure usually requires lens-mounted ND filters or a matte box. This simpler body can still be a strong choice when the camera will already be built into a production rig and external filtration is part of the setup.

SSD recording and V-Mount production rig

Our rental package is configured for longer shooting days. The SmallRig kit includes a camera cage, baseplate, two 15mm rods, top handle, sun hood, V-Mount battery plate and SSD holder. Two 500GB SSDs are supplied for direct USB-C recording, together with USB-C cables for data and media workflow.

Power options include two 95Wh V-Mount batteries, a Canon LP-E6 battery with charger, D-Tap to 2-pin locking power cables and the original AC adapter. This gives operators flexible power choices for handheld, tripod-based and fully rigged configurations.
